I’ve got to say, this series of photos is among my all-time favorites. Braxton turned 1 and his parents wanted to commemorate the moment with a cake smash photo session. The series of photos that came out of his cake smash basically sum up all the emotions a 1-year old can possibly have in about 2 minutes worth of time. It’s a tale of tragedy and second chances. 🙂
This is Braxton, he’s 1-year old, emotional, handsome and charming
His cake smash portion of his session started out like any other: filled with stubborn excitement at the sight of his sugary treat!
And then, in an instant, it all came crashing down.
Leading to this photo–which is, arguably, my favorite photo of all time. It’s so heartbreaking but so relatable….and definitely adorable!
Poor little guy! But, hey, 5-second rule! It was a clean fall, so when the cake portion was picked up, the frosting just stayed on the ground. At first, he was hesitant to dig into the cupcake again, afraid he’d break his heart all over again with another tumble! So mom helped out.
And then he really got into it.
Then he remembered what had happened earlier, and got upset again.
But he recovered quickly…
He even got so into the cupcake he didn’t realize his tie had wrapped around the cupcake. Nom nom nom! 🙂
He managed to recover from the previous cake-dropping incident and quickly picked himself up…
…leaving a trail of purple frosting with every step!
