Open Road Photographer – Lincoln, Nebraska bio picture

Photos are meant to tell stories.

They capture moments that are filled with life.

To me, there is nothing more wonderful than photographing a real moment. A moment that embodies how people feel about one another or the incomparable love between a parent and their children. These moments tell the story of how we interact with each other.

At my photo sessions, I do minimal posing. To me, the most natural photos you can take--the ones where you can truly see how family members or couples interact with each other--are the photos where families choose how they sit together. I always let my clients sit how they feel is most natural first. Then, if I see that something is off with the balance, I rearrange or fix things from there.

I prefer to shoot in outdoor lighting as it provides the most natural looking photos and no backdrop that I could buy or create could possibly be more beautiful than that which the great outdoor provides us with!

I'm always happy to customize packages and work with you to create exactly what you are wanting. No two photo sessions are the same!

This was such a whirlwind session! photos of three kids and a newborn all within 30 mins. I kind of love a good challenge. Turned out absolutely adorable. First time I’ve taken outdoor newborn photos, too. We lucked out on warmer weather this fall, but baby Rhett came to the session all adorable in his knitted sweaters and hat. Just love it. Also, can we talk about how Rhett is the cutest name for a baby boy!?? Too cute.

Mini session madness is in full swing! I love this time of year…lots of photo sessions for a lot of families. The Kramer family had their session down in the Haymarket, which is my favorite place to do mini sessions as there are so many different options for scenery. Even though I am super bummed about the construction going on in my favorite alley there…I still manage to discover new little areas down there almost every time!

I had such a fun time with this family! It was a lesson in what a small world Lincoln, Nebraska is. Jill & Brett are both friends with a handful of my own friends and coworkers and had seen the photos that I had done for our mutual friends pop up on Facebook. Their two little girls were absolutely adorable…laughing and having a good time. They made each other smile and laugh for the photos by looking at each other. So cute!
